Social media has taken off so much in the last 10+ years. I remember getting Facebook in 2007 when I was a junior in high school. I tried to convince my sister, Kelsey, to get on Facebook in which she was hesitant because she had MySpace...

Remember MySpace?! I know my 15 year old niece wouldn't. I mean she thinks Facebook is for old(er) people!

It really wasn't that long ago yet it seems like a decade ago...

Okay it was over a decade, but come on! I still think the 90's was 10 years ago!

In any case, social media has become this amazing platform for everyone, especially businesses. It's a great way to build and create brand awareness. It's also great to engage with your audience, get to know them on a deeper level, and understand them. With information and products just fingertips away, it's an amazing way to reach a large audience. Check out Hubspot on their Instagram page and you will see that 2.4 billion people are on Facebook, 2 billion are on YouTube, and 1 billion are on Instagram.

That's crazy!

Of course there are challenges with social media for businesses, especially ones that are starting out or are small and don't have a team like some other bigger companies have to put out content. Spending a lot of time on content and campaigns is time consuming and can be overwhelming. Business owners have a lot on their plate as is and then to consistently and constantly put out content on social media is enough to just say "forget this!"
