Our Story

What is Kindred North Connection? We like to think of KNC as an outlet for creativity that is ever evolving.

Our mission is to live life creatively inspired. What happens when we give ourselves permission to dream, to play, and create with our hands and our hearts to make a difference in this world? We can create an environment that can truly inspire our lives!

"Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun." Mary Lou Cook

My name is Kelsey, wife to my husband Kelly and momma of 4. When I was a teen, I would walk around our downtown and look at all the empty brick walls and brown buildings and envision color, creativity, and anything but brown. Trips to Minneapolis had me wanting more visual appeal. And I thought, our hometown could look like that too! After high school, I left for college and the idea was soon forgotten. I moved back to Thief River Falls a few years later, fresh out of college where I studied art & photography. I got married, started a full time job, had our first child, and booked my first senior session, all in the same year. Whew!

Around 2017, I started to get a feeling that something was missing. It was then I realized I had lost myself somewhere. I forgot to take time to create, explore, and be curious. I also forgot to take care of my physical, mental, and emotional well being. Time for a change! I dug deep, found my "why", and started my mission to live life creatively inspired, to take care of my body, mind, and spirit, and try take with me as many people as I can on this journey of well being!

OUR MISSION

To Live Life Creatively Inspired

Have you ever taken a close look at your surroundings and felt inspired? If you are lucky enough to live in a culturally diverse community that is full of artistic expression, you are so very fortunate. Growing up in a small, very rural farming community, there's a whole lot of industrial and machinery and not much visual appeal. We are on a mission to change that! How do we take big, scary ideas and start making positive changes? By having a conversation, by seeking out those who share in your big vision, and then coming together to make things happen. What inspires you?
